| John Ruybalid, Mortgage Specialist
John Ruybalid was born in San Diego, California. He grew up in the Bay Area of California; Caracas, Venezuela; Rio De Janiero, Brazil; and San Antonio,Texas. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, with A Bachelor of Arts Degree. John’ first job in Santa Fe was as a City Fireman and EMT. He entered the loan business in 1983 and began making mortgages in 1985. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Fe Del Sur since 1986 and was Club President for the 1991-1992 Rotary year. He is a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association and of the National Council On Aging In Place. He is married and has two daughters. John specializes in Reverse Mortgages. Reverse mortgages are a way for senior homeowners, 62 or older, to borrow on the equity in their homes without having a monthly payment as long as they live in the home. The proceeds can be taken in a lump sum, as a line of credit or as monthly disbursements. The proceeds are tax free. The amount that can be borrowed is based upon the age of the youngest borrower, the value of the home and current interest rates.
